Hazardous Materials, Tires & Electronics

Hazardous Materials are ignitable, reactive, toxic, or corrosive. Materials that have these characteristics and come from households cannot be disposed of through normal trash collection. They are unsafe for humans, animals, and the environment. Never dispose of hazardous items in the trash, down drains and sewers, or into the environment.

The Boston Mountain Solid Waste District operates a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Center where residents of Washington County can drop off many special waste items for free or for a small fee.
