The City of Fayetteville Begins Blogging and Seeks Story Ideas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — We’re blogging! Comments from citizens, City Council members, and City employees led the Communications Division to look for new avenues of outreach. The City is retiring its newsletter after a ten-year run, but you can still read the archives here
We know people have less time and want information quickly. We also know that people need the news, but they also want entertainment. The Communications team chose a free and open platform – there’s no cost to the taxpayers and there’s no need to create a profile. The best aspect of the platform is that it gives an estimated reading time for each story. Our goal is to publish quick reads of one to five minutes, every one to two weeks. In the future we’ll show you where to see our mowing map – you wouldn’t believe how much there is to mow! We’ll also share a recipe about creating a sidewalk – there’s a ton (pun intended) of ingredients.
We hope to publish stories that are inspired by those who live, work, play, and learn in Fayetteville. That’s you! So feel free to tell us what you want to read about – send your ideas to email@example.com
