RE: FOURTH JUDICIAL DRUG TASK FORCE MAKE AN ARREST FOR TRAFFICKING METHAMPHETAMINE
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of an individual for Trafficking - methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver – Marijuana.
Over the course of the past week, detectives with the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force received information about a shipment of methamphetamine being transported into the Northwest Arkansas area. Detectives were able to track the shipment from an out of state supplier to a local address in Fayetteville.
Once the package was delivered, detectives conducted surveillance and identified a potential suspect, who was later identified as Leander Shepard, 59, of Fayetteville. When Shepard took possession of the package, detectives made contact with him. Upon completion of the investigation, detectives seized approximately one pound of methamphetamine and 2.3 pounds of high grade marijuana.
Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force detectives arrested Leander Shepard for Trafficking of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver (Marijuana).
The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of officers representing Farmington, Fayetteville, Greenland, Goshen, Lincoln, Prairie Grove, Springdale and West Fork Police Departments and deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
This investigation is on-going.
